The Royal Navy Rugby union was formed in 1906. The Union manages rugby at all on shore sites in the UK and for ships visiting ports all round the world. The Navy has a reputation for showcasing the game frequently where it had not been seen before.

The Navy play their home games in all dark blue strip with the logo an interlocking NR with a crown over. The highlight every year is the visit to Twickenham for the match versus the Army. The Navy also play an interservices competition which includes the Royal Air Force.
