The origins of Leinster Provincial Rugby Football club came from the first 20-a-side Interprovincial match between Leinster and Ulster, which was played in Belfast on November 27th 1875 the game was won by Ulster. The provincial sides which are the professional sides in Ireland are; Connacht, Leinster,Munster and Ulster.

Leinster's Ground

Leinster play their high profile home games at the 49,000 capacity Lansdowne Road Stadium, Lansdowne Road, Dublin 4 also the home of the Irish national side. They play all other games in their true home ground Donnybrook Stadium, Donnybrook, Dublin 4.

Club Colours of Leinster

Leinster play their home games in strip comprising blue shirts with a white strip and black sleeves the Irish harp features as a badge. The original strip comprised a shirt of blue and white. The Leinster shirt has been pulled on by some well known players such as; Shane Byrne, Felipe Contepomi, Reggie Corrigan, Victor Costello, Gordon D'Arcy, Denis Hickie, Shane Horgan, Eric Miller, David Quinlan and of course the mercurial Brian O'Driscoll.
