Ibiza Rugby Club was founded in 2001 thanks to Pedro Planells and Jason Harvey, having a chance meeting when Pedro was wearing a Scotland shirt and Jason asked if he played. From this chance meeting a club was formed. The club now supports senior, junior and Ladies 7's rugby.

15's Tournament

The Club hosts an international 15 a side tournament which is played on a Saturday in May. The format of the competition is 8 teams, being drawn into 2 groups of 4 teams. They will play matches of 20 mins (10 mins each way, 2pts for a win, 1pt for a draw. The winner of group A plays the winner of group B with the group A & B runners-up playing for 3rd place. The maximum number of games played per team being 4.

Junior 15's Tournament

At the end of may the club hosts a 15 aside tournament at under 16's level. This is run on the same lines as the adult one with the competition being 15 a side rugby(IRB rules) with 8 teams, being drawn into 2 groups of 4. Each team will play 3 group games, where each game is of 20 mins (10 mins each way), 2pts for a win, 1pt for a draw. The winner of group A plays the winner of group B with group A & B runners-up playing for 3rd place.The maximum of games played by any team would be 4, a total of 80 mins throughout the day.

Women's 7 a side Tournament

In 2007 the club staged their first ladies 7's tournament and this was at the beginning of June. No doubt this will develop as a strong competition for touring sides and be a popular end of season occasion in the sun.
