Shanghai Hairy Crabs is a rugby club formed in the mid 1990's and based in Shanghai China. The club was established to spread the game of rugby into China and boasts in excess of 50 members. There is twice weekly training and playing during the season and the club plays the China national team as well as touring sides. Saturday mornings see the players coaching the local youngsters and spreading the rugby word.

Guinness Shanghai Sevens

At the beginning of September the Hairy Crabs in conjunction with Guinness host an annual 7's tournament over two days. This brings in teams from all areas of China as well as overseas such as Japan and Singapore.

Touring

Touring is fast becoming a major influence on the club from Kunming in 2003 and Moscow in 2004, to trips to Beijing and Seoul twice a year. The club are also keen to host and all visiting teams are welcome to experience the bite of the Hairy Crabs and their hospitality afterwards.
