Devon Rugby Football Union was founded in 1877 and it is the managing Union for the 65 clubs in the County of Devon. Its remit is to help promote and encourage people to participate in the sport of Rugby Union. The County provides teams into all age groups up to the full County 15 which participates in the County Cup competition.

Devon play their home games in strip of a white shirt with green hoops. The shirt has featured at Twickenham in the County Cup finals, winning the trophy in 1957 and 2004. They were pleased to put one over their local rivals Gloucestershire winning by 43 points to 14 in the 2004 competition.
