Previously known as the National Provincial Championship, The Air New Zealand Cup (named after its sponsors) is the professional domestic rugby union competition in New Zealand.
After the NPC split into two separate competitions with the other twelve provincial teams from the NPC competing in the amateur Heartland Championship, fourteen team founded the ANZ CUp in 2006. They each play ten round-robin games (which means that the don't play three of the teams), and a ranked in a table on points where the top eight teams qualify for an end of the season quarter-finals round, followed by semi-finals, and then the final.
