We have had the first round of games in the Air new Zealand Cup and no surprises. A few sides were rusty and took time to get going but otherwise results and score line were much as expected, all the winners achieving bonus points except Taranaki and one drawn game 27 all Northland v North Harbour.

Wellington, Auckland, Canterbury, Hawke’s Bay and Waikato all 5 points, Taranaki 4 points, Northland and North Harbour draw but nil points,Tasman, Manawatu, Southland, Bay of Plenty, Counties and Otago all nil points. The sequence is based on points difference.
