We have just reached peace and accord in England and France and now the chaos has spread to Scotland. The long running dispute between Edinburgh Rugby ltd and the Scotland Ruby Union (SRU) has led to the Edinburgh club resigning. There is some confusion as to if they will or will not restrict their players activity with the national side.  Whatever happens it cannot help Frank Haddens preparations for the Rugby World Cup which is fast approaching.

Edinburgh Rugby say they will be in the Celtic Magners League and the Heineken Cup next season, but this must throw some doubt into their future.  We will keep an eye on the news and report further when the situation becomes clearer.  But whatever the outcome it is another nail in the coffin of Scottish professional rugby if not resolved quickly.
