Sharks gain first South African home final

The Sharks booked their place in the final and at home in the Super 14 with a powerful all-round display.  The good news was that this week the Blues turned up and made a match of it.  The early exchanges had the Blues on top and it looked like a surprise was on the cards.  This Sharks side does not panic though and they found their rhythm and began to dominate the forward exchanges.  A couple of decisions went their way which further helped the cause and they went in 14-6 up at half time.  The second half and the Blues got back into the game and even lead for a period.  But then in the last 20 minutes the Sharks rediscovered their form and the lead so 10 minutes to go and it was only 20-18.  The last 10 minutes and everything changed as the Sharks tackled anything that moved and then turned over possession to run out winners 34-18.  The score did not reflect just how close the game was but was just reward for the South African side.  Bring on the final next week.
