Basingstoke hosted Havant in this rearranged Cup game under the lights at Down Grange.  Stoke fielding a young side scared the visitors by taking an early lead through a Karl Buttle interception try converted by Mike Goodall.  This was as good as it got for the home side as Havant had an easy penalty to close the gap and then a converted try to take the lead. Thus 7-10 half time.  The second half Stoke spent long periods attacking without result and then defending but unfortunately conceding points for Havant to take a 7-22 lead before Mike Goodall converted a penalty to close to 10-22.  Havant were not done though and took another score to reach the final score of:
