Earlier in the day, the Crusaders cruised past the Hurricanes having had the majority of possession and territory but for long periods being unable to cross the Hurricanes line. However as expected with the Crusaders playing more like their usual selves they ran out comfortable winners by 33-22 and booked their home Final.
