As the weather is changing we would like to review the BaseLayer Cold body hugging long sleeved clothing. It is designed to keep players warm and dry in the coldest temperatures. Produced originally for professional players the product is available to the general public in several guises.

Cold Long Sleeve Crew top from Base Layer

The Canterbury Essential Cold Long Sleeve Crew top from Base Layer Clothing is the ideal garment for Rugby in the cold weather. It is said to keep you warm, no matter how cold it gets, whilst the moisture management system and what the manufacturer’s call AB100 anti-bacterial finish inhibits mould growth. The product does not chafe as it is seamless, having been designed to be worn next to the skin. the construction is: 65% Nylon, 21% Polyester and 14% Lycra.

Worn for training or playing BaseLayer undergarments

BaseLayer is suitable for all types of player of any age and position, including the coach who is standing on the touchline. They all carry the Canterbury CCC print at centre front below the crew neck and on right sleeve, plus the cold logo on the centre back which includes garment size detail.

Although we have not tested the equipment in real conditions we did enter a freezer and can confirm that it did the job stated, with this in mind we gave the Canterbury Essentials Cold BaseLayer Black Long Sleeve a 4 Star rating and will come back to confirm our rating in actual use at the end of the season.
