15 December – Basingstoke V Richmond
Basingstoke showed great grit and determination in the return fixture against Richmond. Having lost 6-67 away, it was always going to be a big ask to turn over the league leaders, but had a couple of penalties in the first half been converted into points it could have been a home win. Basingstoke started the game at pace and pressured the Richmond line but were unable to press home the advantage. Richmond then took the lead with a Matt Hart penalty on 10 mins. On 29 and 30 minutes Basingstoke had their two penalty misses and so went in to half time on 0-3.
The second half started with a mini disaster for the home side as yet again they were pressing into the visitors half, when a kick over the top in his 22 was gathered by Hart and a breakout was finished off with a try out wide. 0-8. Basingstoke showed their grit and pushed up on the Richmond line but could not find a way through and it was not till the last moments of the game that Richmond took their last points with a penalty giving the final score of:
